How to make Positive Affirmations Work for You

Positive affirmations are a great way to help you overcome fear, build your confidence, attract abundance and much more. They work by tapping into the boundless power of your subconscious mind. Our thoughts draw us to what we are thinking, and by constant repetition of positive affirmations, you can creative positive subconscious thoughts.

Positive affirmations work only when they are translated into action. By conditioning your mind through positive affirmations, you are clearing out the negative thoughts, so that your dominant thoughts are of success.

The problem is that most people aren’t sure exactly how to word effective affirmations. There are plenty of differing opinions on the right and wrong ways to word effective affirmations, but the bottom line is that an affirmation can be considered effective if it works for you! The whole point of affirmations is to shift your thoughts and emotions to a more positive place so you feel more confident, happy, secure, abundant, or anything else you’re trying to accomplish.

There are several techniques that can help make your affirmations more effective. These include the use of constant repetition, engaging your emotions, persistence and belief. Try implementing the following elements when you create your positive affirmations.

Belief

If you do not believe what you're saying, no matter how constantly you repeat it, you will not believe in it. You must first believe in your affirmations before they can create an impact in your life.

Clear your Subconscious Mind

Your subconscious mind is overloaded with thoughts and emotions and you need to eliminate negative thoughts as well as creating positive affirmations. It's important to avoid negative thoughts and words in phrasing your positive affirmations. Instead of using the affirmation "I am no longer poor", try substituting it with a more powerful one, such as "I am well off". This is a use of more positive words that reinforce your preferred end result, and does not carry a hint of any unwanted scenarios which may confuse your subconscious mind.

Repetition

Constantly repeating the positive affirmations will become a good habit that results in self-improvement. By repeating your affirmations several times a day in present tense, they will soon become an extension of your daily thoughts, making it easier for your subconscious mind to work on.

Use Present Tense

Always make sure to phrase your positive affirmations in the present tense. Instead of the phrase "going to", try using the phrase "have". This makes your affirmation something that is happening now, rather than something that is waiting to happen in the future.

 Reminders

Constant reminders are a valuable tool for reflecting the positive qualities that you already possess, or have achieved. These constant reminders need to be used regularly to maintain positive feelings and thoughts, and belief in yourself to achieve the goals that you have set out. Make it a part of your daily ritual and incorporate it into your life, so that it gives you a positive vibration.

Finally, keep your affirmations short, sweet and specific. Get to the point, and make it specific, so that you don't confuse your subconscious with unnecessary words. You may not see the end result immediately, but the key is in persistence. With constant practice, you can soon achieve the goals that you set out to attain.

Take a look at the some of the affirmations below and feel free to use them if they resonate with you. If not, try altering them slightly until they trigger the mind-set and emotional state you’re trying to achieve.
